“How to Become a Licensed Bail Bondsman in New Jersey”

“Becoming a bondsman in New Jersey requires a few steps.  If you are interested in becoming a licensed New Jersey Bail Bondsman, Chance BailBonds wants to help you achieve those goals.”

You have been considering your career choices and have decided you want to become a licensed bail bondsman.  Quite honestly, this industry has become a popular choice in career during recent years. However, it is quite apparent that becoming a licensed bondsman requires you to complete a few different steps, and unless you know someone in the industry, you probably don’t know how to do it.  Therefore, Chance BailBonds wants to provide you with a quick summary on how to become a licensed bail bondsman.  Here you will find all the information needed to achieving those goals! Chance BailBonds is going to help you become a licensed bondsman by arming you with the information you need.

The first step in becoming a licensed bondsman is to attend a qualified school of insurance where you will attend a full day course on the bail bonds industry and NJ laws.   You can find a list of qualified schools on the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance (NJDOBI) website: http://www.state.nj.us/dobi/inslic.htm. Once you have selected a school, you must pay the course fee (varies by school), attend the class, and pass the exam given by the school.   Then, you must register and pass the state exam. The instructor from your class will give you all the information you need to schedule and complete the state exam (a fee also applies for the state exam).

After passing and completing the state exam, you must make an appointment at an authorized fingerprinting facility for a background check (again, a separate fee applies). The facility will acquire your fingerprints and send them to the state agencies for background checks to be completed.  When you have finished the fingerprinting process, you must complete the “Initial Individual Producer License Application” which is on the same site mentioned earlier (sorry, another fee applies).  Once NJDOBI has finished processing your application and approves it, you will be issued a New Jersey Bail Bonds license and be a licensed Bail Bonds Agent.

It is important to mention that the entire licensing process can cost anywhere from $600 – $1000 (depending on the school you chose for your licensing education).  Even though this may seem like a lot of money at first, it is an investment in your future. Here at Chance BailBonds, we pride ourselves in our customer service, reliability, professionalism and dependability.  We can guide you in the right direction in the Bail Bonds business!

Good luck and PLEASE give us a call if you need any SOLID, HONEST advice!  We are always willing to help!
