Jason D’angelo, 36, of Harrison Township, is charged with robbing four banks and four convenience stores in Pitman, Glassboro, Elmer, Mantua, Monroe and Upper Pittsgrove townships. Due to concerns he may not appear in court, Judge Kevin T. Smith set bail for D’Angelo at $500,000 full cash.
D’Angelo’s original bail was set at $600,000 with the option of funding from a bail bondsman who could require as little as 10 percent of that amount from the defendant.
D’Angelo was arrested on August 20 by New Jersey State Police troopers with alleged accomplice Joanna Probst, 37, of Ewan. The spree of robberies and heists began in early July and the investigation of the Century Bank in Elmer Borough began on July 7th.
So far, D’Angelo has been charged with 13 counts of second degree robbery, 13 counts of conspiracy, and possession of heroin.
