Long Branch man arrested in Asbury Park for possession of a gun…

Asbury Park, NJ police were on their usual patrol in the Gardens Apartment Complex in Asbury Park, NJ.  They were investigating suspicious activity when Darien Anderson, 20, of Long Branch, fled the scene and attempted to get rid of a handgun in the process.

When police officers caught up to Anderson, he had attempted to discard the weapon in front of a building.  Police recovered the small loaded revolver shortly after apprehending Anderson.  Anderson was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, obstructing the law and trespassing.  He also had a child support warrant out of Monmouth County for $4,550 and a warrant for contempt from Ocean County in the amount of $10,000.

Anderson is being held on $255,000 bail with no 10 % option.  Leave your comments below
